Dr. Chad Mathis is running for Congress to stop Obamacare and balance Washington's budget. It's time to put an end to Obamacare's mandates and job-killing taxes. It's time for a true conservative voice who will fight for Alabama.
Chad Mathis is a husband, father, surgeon and a successful small businessman who has deep family roots in Alabama.
Chad is the son of a blue-collar union worker and a nurse’s aid. Growing up in a working class family, and attending Christian and public schools taught Chad the prospect of having a better life through hard work and doing well in school. Chad was the first person in his family to finish college.
Chad attended medical school at Indiana University and became a specialist in orthopedic sports medicine. He has been a team physician for multiple professional sports teams and has been practicing medicine for a decade. He met his wife Angie in college, and they have been married for 19 years. Chad and Angie have two children, Abby, who’s 13 years old, and Ben, who’s 12.
Chad came to Alabama because of his grandfather who was born and raised here. He shaped Chad’s love for the state, and the greatness of its people.
"I am a Christian, constitutional conservative, but I am also a surgeon, a father, a husband, and a small business owner. I want to take my experience as a successful small businessman to fight for America’s free market economy. I will put an end to out of control Washington spending. Alabamians want a conservative with the courage to take on Washington, to fight for our constitutional ideals, and to be accountable to them -- not Washington."
"I’ve read Obamacare, and I know that it will smother the last flame of economic freedom from America. I’m running to restore that freedom for all Alabama families. This is our last chance to stop the government takeover of our healthcare and replace it with patient centered reforms."
"For far too long we've accepted the status quo, and with it we've seen government grow far too big. Our country is $16 trillion dollars in debt. If Alabama families have to balance their budgets, why shouldn’t Washington have to do the same? I will support a balanced federal budget and back a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

Today, Will Brooke’s shroud of conservatism landed on the ground with a thud. During the WERC Candidate Forum at Hoover High School, Will Brooke said this:
“…we do need to have a path to legal status for those who are in the country illegally so that we can begin to deal with them. They are here so we have to deal with them…”

The United States tax code is out of control. Liberals in our government have enabled tax policies that are crippling the freest country in the world. Once elected, my focus will be on enacting legislation that will change the current tax code and eventually eliminate it.
